In this season of Kislev, come explore both the miracle of Chanukah’s light–and the miracle of darkness. During this session you will learn about and experience the Jewish Studio Process—a unique methodology that builds creative capacity by combining art therapy practices with a reimagined approach to Jewish learning. Together, we’ll nurture our creative spirits and explore the wisdom found in both shadow and light.
Whether you’re exploring your creativity for the first time and seeking a supportive environment or looking to re-invigorate your creative life, The Jewish Studio Process will meet you where you are and invite you deeper. Come as you are—leave more deeply connected to your own inner spark, and more trusting of the wisdom that darkness can hold.

Facilitated by Ilana Jaffe Lewis
Ilana Jaffe-Lewis is a Teaching Artist and mother based in Los Angeles, California. She is the Assistant Director of Social Medium Makerspace, a facilitator for the Jewish Studio Project, and the Founder of The Mothers’ Studio-- a creative community for mothers. Ilana spends her summer teaching Process Art at the Brandeis Camp Institute. Ilana’s hobbies include: creating, reading, observing, listening, and bringing people together. She loves animals, flowers, book stores, and honest conversation.

COVID Policy:
Masks are optional and extras will be available at the studio. If you are symptomatic or not feeling well, please stay home and we will see you next time.
Parking: Garage parking is available with elevator access to the gathering space on Level 1, where all surfaces are paved or carpeted. Please enter the garage at Laguna Avenue and press 001 to be buzzed in. Street level access is on Echo Park Ave by staircase (2 flights) or elevator. Biking, carpooling, walking, etc. are also encouraged. NOTE: For the safety of our community, please do not attempt to enter or exit through the back gate on Laguna Ave.

The participation fee for this series is sliding scale $9-$36. Our goal is to never turn anyone away for lack of funds so please choose the price from our sliding scale that best meets your needs.
