Activating Creativity Across the Jewish Ecosystem

For the past 9 years, JSP has been cultivating the creativity of tens of thousands of individuals, leaders and organizations across the country, with people at every life stage and level of involvement in the Jewish community. Our unique creative methodology, the Jewish Studio Process, supports those moving through change and challenge, connecting deeply to Jewish tradition, and activating their creative potential for healing, wellness, and professional thriving.

“JSP provides a space where you can come without judgment to learn more about how to know nuance and uncertainty. What else could be more important in this world at this time?”

A Bold Vision of the Future

Creativity is a transformative practice, a powerful new pathway for engaging Judaism, and an essential tool for bringing about a more just world. JSP is helping to seed a future in which every person is connected to their creativity as a force for healing, learning and transformation.

“I have never never felt so empowered in my Jewish practice.”

With gratitude to all of our generous supporters, our major donors, and our funding partners!

Bringing Hope and Healing in Times of Crisis

In the aftermath of October 7, 2023, JSP demonstrated the unique role creative practice can play in processing and regulating emotions and as a strategy for being together across difference. By offering virtual community spaces, digital at-home resources, and workshops to dozens of organizations, JSP was able to bring people together in grief, rage, overwhelm, and uncertainty.

“I’ve discovered a new way of exploring and processing experiences, challenges, and questions.”

The Science of Creativity

Recent studies show that creativity is a profound tool for bringing forth new ways to thrive in a time of increasing overwhelm, isolation and hopelessness. A 2016 Adobe study reported that over 80% of U.S. respondents said that creativity makes them better leaders, parents, and professionals, but only 20% believed they were living up to their creative potential. Being creative made respondents more likely to feel innovative, confident, and happy, which is supported by a 2019 WHO review of over 3,000 studies that identified “a major role for the arts in the prevention of ill health and promotion of health across the lifespan.” Jewish Studio Project is activating the creativity of the Jewish community and beyond.
