This retreat is designed for people who are:
Seeking a personal or professional growth experience that is embodied, creative, and impactful
Self-identify as Jewish, work professionally in a Jewish setting or are spiritually engaged with Judaism
Wanting a deeper understanding of the Jewish Studio Process core methodology
Open to extended art making time and deep Jewish learning - regardless of whether or not you’ve had prior experience with JSP

Rabbi Adina Allen (she/her) is a spiritual leader, writer and educator who believes in the power of creativity to revitalize our lives and transform Jewish tradition.
Integrating a lifetime of experience in the expressive arts with her rabbinic training, Adina has taught clergy, educators and lay leaders in hundreds of Jewish communal settings across the country.
Check out her book, The Place of All Possibility, which pairs spiritual wisdom with art therapy, liberation theology, and creativity research.

Schedule
A detailed schedule will be sent to accepted participants closer to the start of the retreat. You should plan to arrive at the studio by 2:30 pm on Sunday November 9, 2025 and depart the studio at 4pm on Thursday November 13, 2025.
Pricing & Accommodation
The total cost of this immersive is $1500 per attendee. This includes materials, JSP swag, programming, and most meals.
All activities will take place at our Berkeley, CA studio unless otherwise noted on our schedule.
JSP does not provide accommodations for this experience. There are numerous Airbnbs within walking distance of our studio, and we’re happy to recommend nearby hotels that are a short Uber ride away.
Application Process
We expect more interest in this immersive than there are spots available. Because we are looking to bring together a diverse group of participants with a range of experiences and perspectives, we will not be able to accommodate everyone who expresses interest in joining. The application deadline is Friday, September 5 and you will hear from us no later than Friday, September 19.

There is an extremely limited scholarship pool available to support this immersive. If you anticipate needing financial assistance to attend, please reach out to us here.

Yes, this immersive is designed for people who are both new to and those familiar with the Jewish Studio Process.
However, we do recommend attending a virtual program before attending the retreat if you are able to.

As this is a very short experience with daily activities that build upon each other, we ask that you only apply if you are available to participate fully in this immersive.
There will be one or two evenings for you to explore the area on your own/visit family and friends who are in town.

Whenever possible we recommend flying into Oakland Airport (OAK). San Francisco Airport (SFO) tends to have more direct flights especially from the East Coast but will take longer to get to Berkeley where the studio is located.

There are three steps into the building and the bathroom is not ADA. During art-making time, we will hang up paper on the wall so those who want to can stand to make art; we will also set up places to sit during art-making time if that is more comfortable for you. In the studio, there is a couch for anyone to use at anytime.

Masks are optional and extras will be available at the studio. If you are symptomatic or not feeling well, please stay home. In addition, if there is a Covid surge, we may ask you to take a rapid Covid test before you arrive for the retreat.

During the immersive we will provide daily breakfast, lunch & snacks. We will have some dinners all together and leave some night available for optional programming or for you to go and explore on your own or see local friends.
We customize the menu for each group to avoid any stated allergens. We are able to accommodate most allergens, sensitivities, and needs, including Kosher, vegan and/or gluten free.
