Creativity Circles

JSP Creativity Circles are small, peer-led groups (8–12 people) that will meet monthly (Nov 2025 – June 2026) to practice the Jewish Studio Process in home-based community.

These Circles are an opportunity to engage the Jewish Studio Process with intention, intimacy, and ongoing support—all while nourishing your own creativity and community leadership.

Why Lead a Creativity Circle?

Hosts are given tools and supports to host monthly Jewish Studio Process sessions in their home.

Because sometimes, you just need a nudge—and a little structure—to bring your people together.

Because you’ve felt how powerful the Jewish Studio Process can be—and you want to share that with people you care about.

Because the world is intense right now, and people need a way to reflect, process, and reconnect—with themselves, with each other, with something larger.

Because you’ll be supported every step of the way with a variety of resources, including:

  • A Creativity Kit delivered to your door, filled with all the materials you’ll need

  • An easy to use Jewish Studio Process manual

  • A virtual orientation with the group of Creativity Circle Hosts

  • Opportunities to learn from the wider JSP Network

  • Monthly sourcesheets and guides

  • Optional coaching & 1:1 support

This program is specifically designed to provide opportunities for participants who are not Jewish professionals (i.e. Rabbis, Jewish Educators, etc). We’ll provide the materials, guidance, and support to help you feel ready to host and lead.

This opportunity is for you if:

  • You’ve experienced the Jewish Studio Process and want to bring it to your living room, kitchen table, or backyard.

  • You have some experience leading or hosting groups—formally (e.g., convening a book club) or informally (e.g., hosting a dinner party)

  • You’re interested in practicing the Jewish Studio Process more regularly, and building community while you do it.

  • You want to be part of something bigger—a growing network of creative Jewish practice across the country.

  • There is no tuition to become a host! Thanks to Lipman Kanfer Foundation for Living Torah, we are able to offer this program at no cost to a very limited number of hosts.

    Optionally: We imagine some hosts may want to spend a little money on additional art supplies or snacks throughout the year.

  • This program runs from September 2025 - June 2026.  

    Live virtual learning dates:

    • Orientation part 1 (virtual) is Sept. 16th, 4 pm ET

    • Orientation part 2 (virtual) is Oct. 21st, 4 pm ET

    • Webinar 3 in June, date and time TBD

    Monthly Creativity Circle sessions - dates and times are up to you!

  • Applications will open August 1st and close August 22nd. All applicants will be notified August 29th. There is no fee to apply.

    Selected Circle Hosts will receive all materials and support free of charge.

    You can apply as an individual or with a friend (havruta-style) to co-lead your Circle.

  • Creativity Circles are rooted in Jewish text, ritual, and tradition—and they’re open to anyone who is curious, open-hearted, and excited to explore creative and spiritual practice in community. Hosts should feel free to gather a group that reflects their own circles of connection, whether they identify as Jewish, regularly practice Judaism or not.

  • No, this is not designed to be an intensive facilitator training. This is an opportunity to more informally gather those in community with some basic ongoing support and peer accountability.

Creativity Circle Hosts commit to:

  • Recruit a group of 8-12 people to form your circle

  • Convene your Creativity Circle monthly (Nov 2025 – June 2026)

  • Host your first gathering between Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan (October 22nd) and Hanukkah (December 14th)

  • Participate in a virtual orientation and brief monthly check-ins

  • Actively engage in group learning by filling out surveys, providing reflections, and sharing photos and updates

The expected time commitment for hosts is ~4-5 hours per month.
