HOURS & LOCATION: Full Time, US-based, Remote with some travel


JOB DESCRIPTION

Since 2015, JSP has evolved from a small startup into a leading national organization with 12 staff, a $1.8M budget, a growing network of Facilitators and educators, and a community of thousands of participants. We are seeking a Training Manager to join our Program Team as we expand. As a critical member of our growing team and working closely with Rabbi Adina and other JSP faculty, the Training Manager will provide end-to-end project management support for JSP’s cohort programs (i.e., Creative Facilitator Training, Educator Studio, and future regional leader immersives) including: recruitment, communications, learning management system, virtual tech support, in-person retreat logistics, etc. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guiding fellows in JSP cohort programs through their entire process with JSP from recruitment to fellowship participation and into the Jewish Studio Project Facilitator Network for on-going care, training and support post-fellowship.

  • Manage recruitment process: 

    • Organize and mobilize JSP team to recruit qualified candidates for Creative Facilitator Training, Educator Studio and other JSP leader development cohorts. 

    • Generate leads, communicate with prospective applicants, develop recruitment materials and implement recruitment events.

  • Manage program logistics: 

    • Virtual (webinars): Coordinate, be present for and lead program agenda for webinars; provide Zoom tech support.

    • In-Person (retreats): Lead all operational aspects of cohort retreats, including: meals, printed materials, swag and supplies and implementing program/schedule logistics. 

  • Communicate consistently throughout cohort experience: 

    • Communicate regularly with cohort members regarding assignments, attendance, projects, and questions. 

    • Utilize multiple systems for communication, including: email, learning management platform, G Suite, WhatsApp, etc.

  • Serve as faculty liaison: 

    • Coordinate faculty team scheduling, logistics, materials, and deliverables for all programming and retreats.

  • Provide community care: 

    • Nurture cohort community through relationship building, cohort-weaving, consistent communication and accountability.

ABOUT YOU 

  • You are aligned with the mission and practices of Jewish Studio Project. 

  • You are comfortable speaking with a range of people - you’ll be recruiting applicants, caring for the program community, and act as a sounding board for fellows and faculty.

  • You have excellent project management skills and can manage multiple workstreams efficiently. 

  • You are able to work as part of a team and also stay motivated while working independently.

  • You are familiar with anti-oppression frameworks and committed to interrogating systems of power and inequality in the world.

  • You are comfortable being direct with team and cohort members in order to maintain deadlines and meet program goals. You’ll be willing to have potentially difficult conversations (e.g., around program requirements) with care, patience and firmness.

  • You are empathic, intuitive, and have a good sense for group dynamics.

  • Your work reflects self-awareness, groundedness and humility.

PREFERRED

  • Retreat, camp, or event experience

  • Basic understanding of art materials

  • Leadership experience or previous experience in a cohort setting

  • Knowledge of the Jewish communal ecosystem 

  • Social media savvy

  • Valid driver's license and comfort driving 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salaried, exempt position with an annualized salary range in JSP’s Manager pay band of $55K-65K / year.

  • 40 hours per week. This will not be your typical 9-5 job. Work can take place during early morning or evening hours, and occasionally, on Sunday. Depending on program and organizational needs, we are open to some creative scheduling. We are committed to keeping the workload in alignment with the true hours worked.

TRAVEL

All JSP staff are expected to attend annual team-building retreats, and our annual network retreat. Additionally, this role will attend at least one Educator Studio retreat and one CFT in-person retreat per year - and may require additional travel for program team collaboration, cohort recruitment, professional development, etc.

HIRING PROCESS & TIMELINE

  • Round 2 interviews: Final week of May

  • Finalist interviews: Early June (with offer made shortly thereafter). 

    • Finalists will submit a work sample (compensation offered).

  • Position start date: Early July
