Sparks in the Darkness: Creative Exploration for Chanukah

Wednesday, December 9

6:45 pm - 9:00 pm

Location: In-Person, 7811 Gallery, Los Angeles, CA

Cost: $9-$36 (sliding scale)

In the growing darkness of Kislev, we turn toward the sparks within us, making space for creativity, connection, and the light we create together. Through the Jewish Studio Process, a unique methodology blending art therapy practices with a reimagined approach to Jewish learning and spirituality, we'll engage hands, heart, and mind to explore Chanukah's themes of light and resilience: what it takes to kindle a flame in the darkest time of year, and the wisdom held in both shadow and light. No art experience needed, and no particular Jewish background required, just a willingness to show up, make something, and see what sparks.

A Note About Fees:

The participation fee for this series is sliding scale $9-$36. Our goal is to never turn anyone away for lack of funds so please choose the price from our sliding scale that best meets your needs. If you you need additional assistance beyond what is listed please contact Candace Goodwin at cgoodwin@jewishstudioproject.org.

COVID Policy:
Masks are optional and extras will be available at the studio. If you are symptomatic or not feeling well, please stay home and we will see you next time.

A note about Studio accessibility:
There are three steps into the building and the bathroom is not ADA. During art-making time, we will hang up paper on the wall so those who want to can stand to make art; we will also set up places to sit during art-making time if that is more comfortable for you. In the studio, there is a couch for anyone to use at anytime.
