Dare to Prepare Shavuot :: Rhythm & Revelation

Through an innovative mix of JEWISH WISDOM, COMMUNITY BUILDING and hands on DRUMMING, we'll prepare for the transformative revelations that are possible during Shavuot. JSP is thrilled to be partnering with Yari Mander, drummer and facilitator extraordinaire. who will help lead us through experience of connection and learning through active MUSIC MAKING.

On Shavuot, we celebrate the receiving of the Torah, a relevatory scripture for the Jewish people. Tradition teaches that the giving of Torah was not a one time deal, but is an ongoing act that happens anew in every generation.

So much is turning in the world today! Together, we'll investigate the radical nature of revelation in our current generation through Jewish text, music-making, and reflection. No experience necessary!

Join us for this final workshop in our 2016-2017 Dare to Prepare Series!

Workshop to support all who are working for SOCIAL CHANGE through an EMBODIED and ENERGETIC process of PAINTING and WRITING in COMMUNITY. No experience of any kind necessary! Monthly gathering.

In order to create the world we want to see, we must first imagine it. As the systems all around us fall apart, we need spaces and tools to process the pain and grief, tap into the hope and resilience, and activate our imagination in order to discover the new possibilities that are yearning to emerge.

Join us for irRESISTable - a new biweekly gathering that uses art making as a tool for personal and societal change. Utilizing JSP’s unique methodology, this series combines hands-on art making and reflective writing within a supportive and uplifting communal context. We’ll rock out to great music, paint, write, draw, collage, and compose as we occupy our imagination and shift what is into what could be.

No prior experience of any kind needed. All are welcome. Space, supplies and facilitation provided; bring a curious spirit and your big, beautiful heart

Manifest! Exploring the Omer through Art and Song

A creative workshop series to count the omer and explore self through singing, meditation, writing, and art making! Co-facilitated by Rabbi Adina Allen & Renna Khuner-Haber and co-hosted by Moishe House East Bay.

**********************************
The seven weeks from Pesach to Shavuot encompasses the journey from liberation to revelation. We mark these days as sacred time through the daily practice of counting the omer. Counting the omer helps us ask the big, bold, and beautiful questions about who we are and how we live. It offers a weekly way to help us get in touch with the subtle shifts in our lives, the big changes, the yearnings, strivings, disappointments, hopes, and fears.

For 5 Tuesday evenings between April 25-May 23 we will meet to explore the energy and intention of the week through the power of SONG, MEDITATION, WRITING, and ART MAKING.

Attendance at all sessions is encouraged and will enhance the experience, and drop ins are also welcome!
